About the role

The Senior Data Management Analyst will be responsible for improving the data quality of our medical item data offerings, providing reports to our customers, and communicating findings with the engineering team to improve our product and enable Symmetric's growth at scale.

This role is responsible for:

  • Becoming a domain expert on the data we supply on medical products
  • Becoming a domain expert on IT systems and processes used by our customers
  • Helping healthcare professionals avoid wasting time on data cleansing, medical item data research, and manual processes
  • Cleansing large quantities of data using systematic approaches to data quality improvement
  • Creating reports to monitor data quality on our releases
  • Collaborating with our engineering and growth teams to improve our offerings
  • Iterating on data quality by using a combination of automation + manual review to create and improve entity parsing and data cleansing algorithms
  • Mentoring others on data analysis and data cleansing best practices

We are looking for:

  • 3+ years experience as a data management analyst
  • 3+ years experience with SQL, data cleansing, and report building
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Clear communicator and willingness to seek out collaboration
  • Excited to spot check tens of thousands of records for data quality issues

Skills that would be nice to have:

  • Experience working with medical supplies data at a healthcare system, GPO, or distributor
  • Familiarity with ERP systems including Lawson, Infor, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Workday, etc.
  • Experience with SaaS delivered applications and business models

Additional requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and related experience
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Based in the US
